Founded by Scott Brooks & Michael Wind, SLAM Aquatics offers an immense amount of knowledge, passion, and hands on experience within the industry. This has ultimately allowed SLAM Aquatics to consistently provide clients with the best maintenance equipment and techniques for both fresh/saltwater eco-systems.
Michael Wind
Michael's passion began as a child more than 20 years ago. What started as a hobby maintaining both fresh and saltwater aquariums, has now turned into an underwater world obsession. He received his degree in Marine Biology from UNC-Wilmington, where he volunteered at The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center. From there he went on to work at the shellfish hatchery associated with The Center for Marine Science. As a result, Michael's career has focused on the education, and encouragement of sustainable livestock practices within the industry.
Scott Brooks
Scott's passion started back in high school. An electrician by trade, Scott started his underwater journey when he purchased a 75 gallon freshwater tank which he stocked with red belly piranhas. Moving on, he eventually changed that system to an African cichlid tank. Today, he enjoys taking care of his current 220 gallon saltwater reef eco-system. Throughout the years, his passion has grown from housing livestock, to understanding the mechanical aspects of these environments. After 17 years in the electrical trade, Scott finally decided to enter into aquarium business as an installer/maintenance technician for a local company. After several years of experience, and a dedicated business partner SLAM Aquatics was born...
